LineSmith Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern your use of LineSmith for Xcode on macOS and the related pages on leafworkstudio.com.
Agreement to Terms
By downloading, accessing, or using LineSmith, you agree to these Terms of Service.
If you do not agree, do not use the app.
What LineSmith Is
LineSmith is a macOS app that installs two Xcode source editor extensions, adding editing commands to Xcode's own Editor menu.
It requires macOS 14 or later and a working installation of Xcode. Xcode is Apple's product and is governed by Apple's own terms; LineSmith is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple.
License and Acceptable Use
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use LineSmith on the Macs associated with your Apple Account, in line with the App Store's usage rules.
Code you edit with LineSmith remains yours. Using LineSmith creates no claim of ownership over your source, and commands that generate scaffolding produce output you own outright.
You agree not to reverse engineer, redistribute, resell, or misuse the app, or to interfere with its normal operation.
Tips
LineSmith is free and every command is available without payment. The app offers optional one-time tips, processed by Apple through the App Store.
A tip is a voluntary thank-you. It is not a subscription, it does not renew, and it unlocks no feature, content, or entitlement — the app behaves identically before and after one. Because nothing is granted, there is nothing to restore.
Prices vary by storefront and may exclude applicable taxes. Refund requests and billing disputes are handled by Apple, under Apple's policies.
Availability and Service Changes
We may update, modify, or discontinue features to keep LineSmith working with new versions of Xcode and macOS, to comply with legal requirements, or to address technical needs.
Command identifiers inherited from earlier versions are treated as a compatibility contract and are not renamed, so keyboard shortcuts you assign in Xcode continue to work across updates.
Privacy
Your use of LineSmith is also governed by our Privacy Policy at /linesmith/privacy.
In short: the app collects nothing, and your source code never leaves your Mac.
Intellectual Property
LineSmith, including its app content, design, branding, and software, is owned by LeafWork Studio or its licensors and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
LineSmith is the successor to TextPlus, which was released under the MIT License. Portions of the inherited command set were contributed by outside developers and are credited on the LineSmith product page.
Disclaimer of Warranties
LineSmith is provided on an as-is and as-available basis to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
The commands edit files you have open in Xcode. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free operation, or a particular result for any given file, and you remain responsible for keeping your work under version control or otherwise backed up.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LeafWork Studio is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of LineSmith, including any loss of or damage to source code.
Because LineSmith is free, our total liability for claims relating to the app is limited to the amount you have paid us for it, if any.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised Last updated date.
