Something not behaving as you expect, or an algorithm that looks wrong? Send a message with as much detail as you can and we will work through it with you.
Updating to 7.0
7.0 is a free update on the same App Store record, and it keeps your existing data: your favorites, your edited algorithms and your flashcard progress all carry over.
Your algorithm lists stay as they were. 7.0 ships a new recommended algorithm for many cases, but it never replaces a list you may have changed. To take the new lists, use Restore Default Algorithms, described next.
Restore Default Algorithms
Settings ▸ Algorithms ▸ Restore Default Algorithms replaces every case's algorithms with the list that comes with your version of the app, and selects the first one. Algorithms you added or edited are removed, and this cannot be undone.
Your aliases, notes, setups, favorites, Learning list and study progress are kept.
A Case Is Missing From My Flashcards
Favorites and Learning are separate lists. A star keeps a case close; only cases in Learning become flashcards. Open the case and choose Add to Learning.
Removing a case from Learning keeps its progress, so adding it back picks up where it was.
Too Few or Too Many New Cards
Open Review from the Learning tab and tap the gear for Flashcard Settings. New cards per day runs from 1 to 20.
Reset deck, on the same sheet, clears your flashcard progress and starts over. It asks before it does.
The Report's Heat Map Is Empty
The Report counts study from version 7.0 on. Earlier versions did not keep a record per day, so the map starts empty after you update and fills in as you review and practice.
A day counts once you grade a flashcard, answer a quiz round or record a drill time. Opening a screen or browsing cases does not count.
A Quiz or Drill Result Did Not Count
A quiz sitting counts toward your best average once it has at least five answers and at least half of them are correct. A skipped round is not an answer.
In the Execution Drill, a stop within 0.3 seconds of the start is ignored, and an attempt is dropped if the app leaves the foreground while the clock is running. A time with a gap in it is not an execution.
Moving to a New Device
Cube CFOP has no account and no cloud sync. Your data lives on the device and travels with that device's backup, so restoring a new iPhone or iPad from a backup brings it along.
An iPhone and an iPad each keep their own algorithms and progress.
Before You Write
Update to the latest version of Cube CFOP and of iOS when you can; 7.0 requires iOS 17 or later.
If the problem is about one case, tell us its step and name, for example OLL, F1 - 9, and the algorithm you had selected.

Contact in the app's Settings opens a message with your device and app version already filled in.
What to include in a bug report
- Your device model and iOS version
- The app version, shown at the top of Settings
- The step and the case, if the problem is about one
- Exact steps before the problem happened
- A screenshot or short screen recording if you can
