KanjiMate Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of KanjiMate on iOS and iPadOS and related pages on leafworkstudio.com.

Last updated: August 12, 2026

Agreement to Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using KanjiMate, you agree to these Terms of Service.

If you do not agree, do not use the app.

License and Acceptable Use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use KanjiMate for personal, non-commercial learning purposes.

You agree not to reverse engineer, redistribute, resell, or misuse the app, or interfere with its normal operation.

Premium Plans and In-App Purchases

KanjiMate Premium unlocks the app's paid features and is offered through three plans, all sold by Apple as in-app purchases: a Monthly auto-renewing subscription, an Annual auto-renewing subscription, and Lifetime, a one-time purchase.

A free trial may be offered on eligible plans for new subscribers. Trial availability and length are determined by the offer shown in the App Store and by your eligibility as assessed by Apple.

We do not publish plan pricing on this page. The current price, currency, billing period, and any introductory or trial offer are shown in the App Store and in the app's purchase screen before you confirm a purchase, and those displayed terms are the ones that apply.

Premium access from any plan is linked to the Apple ID used for purchase and can be restored on eligible devices using Apple's restore purchase flow. Premium is not transferable between Apple IDs.

KanjiMate is free to download and a substantial part of the app is available without any purchase. Premium unlocks additional features described in the app and on our website. The exact split between free and premium features may change in future versions as the app evolves; any such change applies going forward and never removes a purchase you have already completed.

Auto-Renewing Subscriptions (Monthly and Annual)

The Monthly and Annual plans are auto-renewable subscriptions. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account upon confirmation of purchase.

Your subscription automatically renews for the same period at the then-current price unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.

If you start a free trial and do not cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, the paid subscription begins and your Apple ID is charged the applicable price. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

You can manage your subscription, view the price you are being charged, and turn off auto-renewal in your Apple ID account settings after purchase.

Cancelling stops future renewals. Premium features remain available until the end of the period you have already paid for.

Lifetime Purchase

Lifetime is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase. It is not a subscription, is not billed again, and does not renew automatically.

"Lifetime" and "forever" refer to the period during which KanjiMate and its premium features remain offered by us. They do not promise perpetual availability of the app or of any specific feature.

A Lifetime purchase covers the premium features of KanjiMate. If we later release a separate app, it may require its own purchase.

Billing, Pricing, and Refunds

All payments are handled by Apple through the App Store, subject to Apple's terms and billing policies. We never receive or store your payment card details.

Prices are set per storefront and may vary by country or region. Displayed prices may include or exclude applicable taxes depending on your region, as shown by the App Store at checkout.

We may change plan pricing or the plans we offer at any time. Changes apply to new purchases and renewals only, never retroactively to a purchase you have already completed. For auto-renewing subscriptions, price changes apply under Apple's policies, and where required you will be asked to consent before a renewal at a new price.

Refund requests and billing disputes must be submitted directly to Apple, since Apple is the seller of record for all in-app purchases. We cannot issue refunds on Apple's behalf, but you are welcome to contact support if you need help with your request.

Availability and Service Changes

We may update, modify, or discontinue features to improve KanjiMate, comply with legal requirements, or address technical needs.

We may suspend access for abuse, fraud, or actions that harm the service or other users.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free operation, or specific learning outcomes.
