Upgrading from MineX 1.x

Version 2.0 is a free update on the same App Store record, and it keeps your existing data: best times, statistics, settings and .minex replay files all carry over, and replays written by 1.x still open.

Two defaults did change. A single left click on a number now opens the squares around it, and Space flags the square under the pointer. If you would rather chord on a double click, or not on a left click at all, both are in Settings (Command-comma).

Game Center Is Not Showing My Times

Game Center is off until you turn it on, from the Game Center menu or in Settings — that is deliberate, so a new install never opens with a sign-in prompt.

Once it is on, check that you are signed in to Game Center in System Settings, and that your Mac is online. Leaderboards are kept per level and split between flagging and no-flagging, so a flagged run will not appear on a no-flag board.

A Replay File Will Not Open

MineX validates a replay when it opens it, and declines a damaged file rather than letting it disturb a game in progress. If a file is refused, it is almost always because it was altered in transit — try sending it again, compressed.

Open replays from Game ▸ Open Replay. The format is compatible in both directions with 1.x.

A Best Time Did Not Save

Version 2.0 reports a save failure rather than losing a record silently, so if you saw no message the record should be in Best Times.

If you did see one, please send us the message text — it tells us where the write failed.

Before You Write

Update to the latest version of MineX and of macOS when you can; MineX requires macOS 14 or later.

If the problem is about a specific game, a saved replay of it is the single most useful thing you can attach.
